UJOC Mission Statement

The Utah Journal of Communication (UJOC) is an open-access, peer-reviewed publication dedicated to advancing scholarship in the diverse field of communication. Our mission is to:

  • Publish high-quality, timely, and accessible research that informs and enhances the work of communication scholars and professionals.
  • Foster meaningful dialogue by engaging with emerging debates and critical discussions in communication studies.
  • Serve as a leading voice in the Intermountain West, striving to be one of the region’s most influential and widely read communication journals.

While we particularly welcome submissions from scholars in Utah and research relevant to the state, UJOC invites contributions from academics, professors, doctoral candidates, and master’s candidates regardless of geographical affiliation. All submissions undergo rigorous peer review to ensure the highest standards of scholarship and relevance.
